Tom Petrie is in his 52nd year in the retail field, he has held many managerial positions. Tom’s current position is a Human Resource representative for Tops Markets. He has held the position of Chairman of the Board for the East Aurora Chamber of Commerce where he helped promote the East Aurora business community and oversaw several community projects. He has been an active volunteer for Junior Achievement of WNY for over 12 years. He volunteers for this organization because he is the proud grandson and son of decorated WWI and WWII Army veterans. This is a way to honor them for their service and to continue to honor all of America’s veterans. Buffalo- Niagara Honor Flight received its official charter in February of 2016 and at that time, he accepted the role of President. He is grateful to continue to lead this worthy organization.
Nancy Babis is a first year board member, 3-year volunteer. She describes her main job as “worker bee” she volunteers at events, helps plan events and assists when/where needed. Her parents served in the Navy (dad) and Coast Guard (mom). Nancy’s husband was also a Navy veteran. Veterans have always been a big part of her life. She is very involved with veterans especially through her membership and service in the American Legion Auxiliary. She is serving as President of the American Legion Auxiliary Department of New York. In planning for her retirement from a nursing career of over 30 years, she shared that she wanted to continue her service to Veterans and learned about Buffalo- Niagara Honor Flight. Nancy wants to be part of honoring our Veterans through one more tour with honor.
Donna Quigley is the treasurer for Buffalo – Niagara Honor Flight and has held the position since 2018. Donna comes from a military family in that her relatives have served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Donna also serves in the role of bus captain for flight day.
Donna is a Buffalo based Accounting/Finance professional. Donna earned her BBA & MBA from St. Bonaventure University and has worked in the banking related industry for the length of her career. Donna is currently a Senior Manager with Durkin Group LLC performing forensic accounting in the asset-based lending sector; she is the Firm’s precious metal lending specialist.
Kathy Brown is the Secretary and has held the office since 2017. She is a retired Grand Island CSD special education teacher and President of the New York State United Teachers WNY Retiree Council #1. She has been volunteering with BNHF since its first organizing meeting in the winter of 2016. Kathy is the daughter of a WWII veteran who served in the Infantry during the Battle of the Bulge. Kathy feels a closeness to her deceased father every time she participates in getting other people’s veteran dad, mom, or other family members on a trip of honor.
Dennis Priore is a board member and media coordinator since September 2016. He is a retired teacher and Kenmore – Town of Tonawanda UFSD middle school principal. He currently is in his third term as a Board of Education trustee of the Clarence Central School District. Dennis also volunteers with the Erie County Association of School Boards, and serves as a lector at St. Mary’s of Swormville Church. Dennis’ father, Jerry Priore was a Corporal in the US Army serving in WWII. “It is a great honor to assist our nation’s veterans to travel to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials that are dedicated to them”
Debbie Maybach is member is a lifelong native of WNY and has worked at Starpoint Central School District for 27 years. Currently she serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent. While also a member of a singing group known for Jazz and music from the 40s, 50s and 60s called, The Buffalo Dolls, she performed for the BNHF veterans on a flight in 2017 and her father, being an Army veteran was on this trip. A truly amazing day spent as his Guardian!! Debbie has now taken on the duties of Volunteer coordinator as a board member.
Eileen E. Snyder spent 42 years in the banking industry in the Buffalo area retiring as a First Vice President, Credit Risk Manager at First Niagara Bank. She joined Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight in 2016 when the current hub was formed and served as Treasurer from 2016-2018. She joined the BNHF Board in 2022 and assists the Veteran Coordinator with updates to the database along with providing data sorts for preparation for fights. Previously she served on the board of CHC Learning Center for 24 years with 7 of those years as President. Additionally, she was a board member of the Girl Scouts Council of Buffalo and Erie County as well as the board of Oakbrook Condominium.
